Nanny Appreciation Week 2023 - Nanny Interviews

It is already September, kids are back to school, and cooler weather will (hopefully) be coming soon! In the midst of changing seasons and new routines, East Coast Nanny Agency wants to take the time to recognize all of our amazing nannies. During September 24th - 30th we are excited to celebrate National Nanny Recognition Week!

As we lead up to National Nanny Recognition Week we want to share a few blog posts highlighting some of our incredible East Coast Nanny Agency nannies. ECNA has worked to place all of these amazing nannies with our incredible families. We took some time to sit down with a few of our nannies to ask them some questions about why they wanted to become a nanny, what it means to be a nanny, and any of their favorite parts about the job.

In today’s blog we chatted with Stephanie! We were able to place her in a part-time position with an amazing family and it was such a pleasure working with her!

ECNA: What made you want to become a nanny?

Stephanie: Childcare has always been my passion. Ever since I was little I knew I wanted to be a mom and be around kids as much as I could. I ended up working with special needs children in a school as well as having special needs kids of my own. Teaching was amazing but I was really looking to be in a position that was more flexible for my family but still in my passion of working in childcare. Nannying fit the bill perfectly and it has been awesome to work with the wonderful family that ECNA placed me with!

ECNA: What is your favorite part of being a nanny?

Stephanie: I would say my favorite part of being a nanny is knowing what I am doing for other parents and families. I am able to give families the peace of mind that any parent needs. Parents can’t be there 24/7 and I love being there for the kids when the parents can’t. For the family to know that I can do all of the things that mom and dad would be doing and be able to provide a caring and nurturing environment for these kids is just such a rewarding experience. As a mom myself I know what it feels like to have someone taking care of your kids and I love being that stability for another family!

ECNA: From your experience.. How do you feel nannying has an impact on children and parents?

Stephanie: When families are able to be matched with a nanny and to have that nanny be able to take on their beliefs and come into their home, that can be an extremely positive and rewarding experience for a family, nanny and child. Nannying is my career and my livelihood but I am not forming the same type of work relationships that I would be forming with peers and coworkers in a big company. The relationships I have with my nanny family are so much more fulfilling and long lasting. These relationships aren't just going to disappear as the kids grow up.

ECNA: How did working with East Coast Nanny Agency Enhance your Career?

Stephanie: Working with Savannah and the ECNA team was absolutely wonderful! I found ECNA when my life was a little bit flipped upside down, I had a lot going on and Savannah was just amazing! From the beginning Savannah made me feel so welcome, she was very understanding with the flexibility I needed and just so personable and professional during the whole process. Having someone like Savannah who just understood that I need to work to support my family but still be acknowledged and appreciated was a phenomenal experience!

Stay tuned for more nanny interviews coming later this month!
